1. Give the definition of identity theft?

Somebody who steals your identity in internet. For example you put the number of your card in a page to buy something and he/she enters and steals your number and telephone and everything and starts using your number to buy things doing as he/she was you.

2. How many people suffer from identity theft, each year, worldwide? Make a hyperlink to the page from where you obtained your stats.

Surveys in the USA from 2003 to 2006 showed a decrease in the total number of victims but an increase in the total value of identity fraud to US$56.6 billion in 2006. The average fraud per person rose from $5,249 in 2003 to $6,383 in 2006.

3. What is character defamation?

Little by little you ruin the reputation of a person.

4. Are there currently any defamation of character lawsuits going on in Spain? Give a minimum of three sentences describing the lawsuit and include a hyperlink to the article.

5. What are the dangers of posting videos on Youtube, or any related site? Give a minimum of 5.

-A pederast could watch you and if in the video it says your name he can tell one of your frineds I know her/him.

-They could steal your identity.

-Somebody could kidnap you if they discover who are you.

- They can identify the place and go and get you.

6. Find two newspaper reports or stories that discuss today’s dangers of internet use, such as chatting, youtube, etc. Summarize these articles in your own words and put a hyperlink at the bottom of the summary to the article.

Paedophiles are regularly using internet chata to persuade vulnerable children as young as 13 , according to a new report. The Home Office is warning that nearly one in five children could be in danger from these internet abusers. In an unpublished report obtained by the BBC, the Home Office said those most at risk are girls aged 13 to 17.

According to a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, one of five Internet users younger than 17 received an online sexual solicitation during the past year. One in 33 received an aggressive sexual solicitation involving offline contact or a request for offline contact.

7. How can images damage your school’s reputation or your own? Give an example of a situation that you have seen that could have been damaging had it been put on youtube.

Pederast could watch a video wich is put on youtube and identify the school and if he likes you he may go to school and try to kidnap you. People in our school put a video on youtube and some bad persons could have seen it.

8. If you wish to put something on Youtube that involves a school related project what steps must be taken?

You have to have a written permision of the school authorising you to put that video with the school of background. If someone else is involved in the video, their parent must give them a written permision.

9. Do we need to protect ourselves from others only, or also from ourselves?

Only from other, we have the capacity to care each for ourselves.

10. How can computers been found? How can the police find out that your computer was responsible for posting something illegal?

The police has special detectors and machines that are specially to hack computers. They are very useful to get people who have ilegal pornography for example.

11. How can you protect yourself from stalkers or pedifiles finding you on the internet?

Privating your web permiting only your friends and the people you know enter and not everyone.

12. Is technology creating unforseen problems in our lives, give at least two examples in areas beyond identity theft and defamation of character, give at least two examples of other areas.

There are children that are adicted to internet like to videogames and messenger, and that is cousing problems. Other problem is that if a pederast or a person with the objective of killing or abusing may use internet to atract his victims.
